Gas fire pit built into paver patio

We have built fire pits into paver patios in the past, but this is the first time we will be installing a gas pit. I have done a little research, and it doesn't appear too complicated but was wondering if anyone who has done this before can enlighten me as to the best method. Should I purchase the gas ring, have the lines run, and build something custom, or are there kits available that would work better. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Jeff
