Stone front step 8ft long by 5 steps high

I might be building a set of steps out of natural stone,(the sides will all be exposed) Ive never seen this done before but this is what were doing. Its approx 8 feet wide were using full 8ft lengths for the treads all guillotined and cut square. The tread tops will be natural tops and were using bushhammerd pieces to build the sides so we will have a flat surface to stack on. Has anyone done this, I would love to see pics of it?

why not do it like this?
Those rubble pieces just seem like they would move too easy unless mortared.stone-front-step-8ft-long-5-steps-high-stan.jpg

Fine Edge is an unknown quantity at this point
Where are these steps located? Formal front steps or something different?
Judging by some of the stone you were describing, I feel that these are going to be nice.

Can you raise the sides above the steps and cap those also?

Ya formal front steps, I never thought of adding a cap like that, those steps look nice. The whole idea is that the smallest stone in there will be like 2 feet long on the sides. Also I'm not a stone mason and I know I can pull this off on our own, however if there wanting to go with something like you have (fine edge) then will have to have a mason come and do that end of the work for use.
