proper saw blade for cutting borders

what type of blade do you use for saw cutting a border? i thought there was too much paver chipping when i tried to do it. would water or lower saw RPM help this?

Regular wet saw with Diamond blade works for us. Just go slow and steady so as not to chip the pavers and you shouldn't have too much trouble.
Have also used a skil saw with a diamond blade on a dry cut which also works.

What are you using now?

Sounds more like the pavers aren't that great of quality. I have never had my pavers chip while cutting wet or dry.

I'd be interested in knowing the pavers, blade and saw used as well.

chipping occurred when i was using a handheld gas-powered hilti DS HS 64 with a 14" blade to dry cut EP Henry's Devonstone. it is a newer product that is made to look like bluestone, and is thinner than standard brick pavers, around 2.75" thick. everything i ran through the 10" wet saw cut fine, but i could only do that for the smaller cuts. the chipping was small, shallow, and hidden by the larger 1" joints with polysand - but really bugged me. i didn't want to take the handheld saw to a large soldier course border and have the same thing happen.

so it may be paver quality rather than using a finer blade/water attachment?

It could be a few things - there could be something a bit out of alignment with the saw causing the blade to wobble, which could cause the chipping. Could be the blade, too. Maybe too aggressive.

Try the blade on a different type of paver and see if the results are the same.
