If you are talking about MAHTS, then yes it is def. worth the time. If you are looking to get into Hardscape applications there are many entry level courses that you can learn from. The Networking is great and the business courses are very well worth the cost. I take my Hardscape guys there every year and will continue as long as they have it.

From what I understand they are only having one ICPI class and one NCMA this year, so if anyone is interested in taking either or both you may want to register early.

You may want to check your source, I talked to an E.P. Rep the other day and he said they are offering both Spanish and the regular course. We are sending a couple of guys this year, and if it is only Spanish they will have some problems.

I'm curious what is it that you learn from these courses that you wouldn't already know from reading manufacturer's spec and guidelines manuals? Any examples? Or is it just the "hands on" benefit of seeing stuff done in person?

How much you learn probably depends on who is speaking.
There is quite an emphasis on soils - types, testing and compensating for problem soils. Also, things like aspect ratios and engineering specifications are explained. It is more than just the 'how', it is also the 'why' behind the guidelines.

It would be nice if they could consolidate these lectures onto a DVD or two, so we could show them to new hirees when they begin and not have to wait to randomly catch a seminar. Not to mention it would be MUCH more convenient and cheaper... And not cut into limited production hours. Twelve hours of driving to catch three hours of useful seminars is hard to justify.
Besides, with a DVD you could stop and go back over sections that were not understood, without worrying about frustrating a room of 100 others who want to move on.

Yes they have training videos but the icpi course is not only 3 hours as far as I know is a day and half and then the test.
What you learn from manufactures guidelines and manuals is nothing compare to what this courses offer.
