Cultured Stone = Business Add on?

hello everyone- it's been a long time since i posted a message, i hope everybody has had a great year so far.

i am sizing up the possibility of adding cultured stone/stone veneer (indoor and outdoor) services to our business to extend our season into the winter months. i have a bit of experience with it and so do two of my guys, and with all the natural stone / masonry we do outdoors, it seems like a natural add on. we are licensed builders as well.

i am looking for any ideas on how to launch an effort like this - mail to exisitng clientele, add to website, etc. are any of you guys offering this to boost your off-season activity?

thanks,

We only do a small amount of outside veneer work, but if I were to wanted to add more sales I would do everything you listed above. The most important would be to get the information to your current client list. I would also call your customers and ask for any referrals they may know of.

Also, Get some display work at a fireplace and/or patio store if you can. You may need to eat some cost, but this will get you in the door when people will be updating or thinking about buying there first fireplace. Contact builders and let them know that you are offering this work. I would also think rehab work would be good for winter (repointing, etc..), this would be a good service to do some advertising in local print ads in the fall while people are getting ready for the winter.

I think the avenues for promotion would be just about the same as the ones you already use. Just make that new service part of your message.
