Most Efficient Walkway Base

My First Post! You guys are experts (or at least seem like it) and I am about to install a S-Curve Flag Walk with Poly-Sand. I wanted to know if any of you have discovered the most efficient way to excavate and screed out the base of a walkway. For example, How do you keep the even slope from the landing to the driveway? Whats the best screed setup? I apologize if u have answered these questions before, but any help would be appreciated...thanks guys!

For the base course I would dig out the desired depth and use some stakes and stringlines to get your base course accurate.

For screeding I use 1" gas pipes. These are very solid and are unlikely to bend. Place these on top of your compacted gravel. Use a stringline to keep them at your desired level. For a walkway I typically use a straight 2"x4" so I can cut it to a desired length.
