This looks strange,
No, this is not our job but it is across the street from our job.
Just had to take this pic to see how many of you actually drain your pipe through the front of the wall.
The rest of the pipe is sitting behind the wall , even with the bottom of the cap.
Just watching that whole wall go together made me cringe.

You have to admit it's nice and level
Is it unfinished?

We drain pipe out the face of walls. We do it a bit differently than that, but we do it.
I wish attractive grating was more readily available - but I believe that Versa-Lok endorses this method.

Being new to this, what other way is possible? If you are retaining earth with a wall, how can you daylight the drainage any other way the out the front?

We usually daylight it around the side on a situation like this and bevel cut the pipe flush with the grade.
BTW, Stonehenge, those do look a bit more attractive on your walls.

We always place daylight them close to grade, so once turf takes hold, they usually aren't noticed.
But again, I wish there was an easily accessible grating solution to camouflage them even more. Surprised Versa-Lok (or other bloack makers) haven't found and branded some existing grate for this purpose.
Fore reference, for walls that are long enough (50' or 75', I forget) I'm pretty sure you aren't supposed to have a single daylight - out the end, the middle, whatever. You're supposed to have multiple daylights (which would force you to have daylights out the face). I believe this was again from Versa-Lok's specs, but don't quote me.

We daylight every 50' through the face with sock on the pipe. If you have enough fall you could pipe it thru the bottom course and run to solid pipe and daylight somewhere in front of the wall. I have seen this done commercially.

I don't have a picture with me but I pretty much do it as Jeff the difference is that I bought couple of special spray paint at home depot that turn into rock texture, and paint the covers.

Spray that turns into rock texture? Do you have the name of the product, sound interesting.

I've done this when I have to daylight leader pipes through a wall. I use a little more refinement though and cut a close fitting hole in the block with my hand grinder.
Most drainage for the footing I'm able to bring out somewhere under the footing and daylight at a lower level.

most of the time i prefer to take them under the foundation and switch over to sched 40 pvc under the blocks for the added strength and take then down the slope a little ways to hide it all.
