Holes up Holes Down.. Need Help

I am installing a wall and I am confused about the Holes in the Drain
Pipes. From What I have read and what I understand the Holes face down
when Installing the pipes ? Seems opposite the way I would have expected to install the pipes can some confirm this for me. If the Holes Do face down
How does this Work ? The Pipes I am using Have 3 Holes around the Diamater
of the Pipe.

Holes down, drainage zone fills from the bottom to top. The pipe is actually a back up measure as the water rises it will fill the pipe.

I've never seen a pipe with three holes in it. Could the pipe you have be something special for a footing drain?

If the three rows of holes are at 3,6,and 9 o'clock I am having trouble with holes down. If the holes are in two rows at 4 and 8 o'clock definitely down.

Holes down. Seen it used as a foundation drain and septic line.

Ive used 6'' pipe that had 3 different holes, just turn it so there's alittle bit of solid strait down. That's all you need.
