curved trex decks
Has anyone bent trex decking laterally to create curved decks? Have you seen the Trex ads showing the super custom jobs? I assumed it was all photoshopped, but I guess that those are real decks.
In the ads I see no screws on the decking so everything is attached from below. This would be quite a challenge to create a curved deck using a composite. All the plastics I have used have a torsional quirk about them, seems to have them lay flat one would have to build the frame on 12" centers. Joining the ends of composite planks has been a real challange. And finally, how would you taper the final outer plank to fit the curve? Whenever I sand the edge of a trex or other plastic deck, the cut/sanded edge just looks like, well, cut and sanded.
I'm sorry, but I think the Trex ads are photoshopped to death, giving the illusion of a perfect product in the perfect setting, but really, come on!
