echo chambers

I need some input on these things like--
*are they worth the price(ws$1065.00)
*where do they go in the scheme of things?
*you dont put your pump in it do u?

I'm bidding a waterfall/stream w/ an echo chamber disappearing into a pondless area. The pondless area I would like to bring up against a flagstone patio.
the price I got out of discount pond supplies
thanks everyone!

Okay, I'm confused...

We always build an "echo chamber" into the waterfall by creating a kind of acoustic shell out of the waterfall stone, directing sound where you want it to go. I thought this was just part of the construction process.

I've never done a "pondless" waterfall (personally don't like 'em -- can't think of a less natural use of water -- but that's just me) and can see where that might take a little extra fiddling to get the sound right with no water to fall into.

Please enlighten me!

an echo chamber is a 4ftx3ftx30'' tub(for lack of a better word). This tub has a grate on top that u would place the rocks on. when the water hits the rocks, grate, bottom of the tub the sound of falling water is amplified. I had just read about them in a trade magazine the week before, so I knew he wasnt talking about the natural ones that are made from placing rocks a certain way. I looked it up in my wholesale catelog and they are carrying them for 1000 bucks. I'm also designing the falls to have a few pools before disappearing. people that want these pondless things are to lazy to keep the algae and what not out, plus keep fish alive. I've never used an echo chamber before like I said. Probally just price it seperately so they can discard it if they want.

I've never heard of one, but from what you describe, it sounds like something you could probably fabricate yourself for $100 (and then sell for $1,000).

But for us, just putting the stones surrounding the falls into the shape of a parabola throws the noise where we want it.
