Raised patio

I can use some input on building this raised patio. The area where the patio and house meet is an overhang of 2' and is also 2' off the ground. Any raised patios we've done in the past were against the foundation so things were simple. Aside from how to compact under there I'm concerned with damage to the doors from heaving.

Not sure what you're asking here. I'll be using techo-bloc 6" creta or 4" quarry stone.

I was wondering what the overhang is made of. Is it a wooden platform? Is it all open air underneath?

It's a 2' extension of the kitchen, all open air.

build a vertical wall outlining the overhang using retaining wall block(we use anchor step block). glue the blocks together and lay filter fabric up against the blocks and then bring in your base material.

First I would recommend leaving some type of small crack1/4" on either side of the overhang to promote some type of air flow to prevent mold. Second I would build at the front of the overhang a solid wall using either lintels or your block keeping the wall back far enough to make the impression of the pavers going completely underneath. I would take the wall up high enough that you can glue your paver to the top and leave a 3/8-1/2" gap for expansion due to the freeze cycle. Make sure to interlock your lintels and glue, and fill. Biggest precaution would be to make sure when you are installing your base that you do not push the lintels or block. We have used a pave edge on the backside to keep the block in place even with a full course buried. Hope this is what you are asking?
