sea wall with water fall?

I went to a park district employees home today. They had asked me about a sea wall but during our conversation the wife asked if they could included a water fall in to the sea wall, I told them I could do a design for them but was unsure of how to incorporate the water fall. The lake shore that they own is really an old quarry and it's limestone base come up too high for a more typical pump arrangement. Could the limestone be cut to allow a 6" pipe be run under the sea wall and incorporate a small pit under the falls?

I need more info Paul...

By this are you saying that you can't get a pump low enough to suck out the water? And with a pit, is this because the limestone so so high the water will drop onto it rather than back into the quarry?

I'm lost. Been a very long week so far....

Sorry Bill it's my fault. I was kind of out of it too! The water level in the lake is at it's high point now, but later on when the lake lowers the water will be too low for the pump to pick up clean water. So I was wondering if a 6" pipe could be cut into the limestone base of the lake and allow water to flow into holding area under the falls. figuring a 50 gallon tank buried beneath the falls for the water supply .

A friend did a similiar job a few years ago......I think!. they had a old quarry with about a 50 ft. cliff on one side and the people wanted a waterfall at the top of the cliff.

He started with a algae queen suction filter (filter attached to a tire so it floats on top of water), but the pond would empty so low that the filter would bottom out and the pump would start sucking air ($$$$).

Their solution..............they drilled a massive well to to keep the water in the pond constant as they also used it for irrigating about...........geesh, I don't know............10 acres of gardens???

Maybe, maybe not, but the algea queen may help filter the water when the level is low, but if it gets a lot of muck in it, it may clog. Depends on how low the water level gets and how much muck is in it.
