Advice on the basics, in simple terms, for a dum dum...

Hi all,

I am a building interiors contractor by trade but have a home project and am looking for some priofessional direction.

I am building a flat cement paver patio (sloped only for water run off) on a sloped portion of our yard right next to our house. The patio will be about 40' x 40'. The untouched ground slopes from 0 down to about 50" within this area.

I plan to use a SRW system at the rear and one side to retain the fill materials and level the yard out.

I think I am understanding the SRW install. I am using Pavestone materials and am following their directions. The pavers are also Pavestone. My question is specifically what materials, thicknesses, and compaction process is used to bring the grade up to lay pavers?

In my area of Pa. I have readily available ... fill dirt, fill dirt with slate, slate pieces only, limestone and bluestone (dirty and clean), concrete (coarse) sand. masons (fine) sand.

So sorry I'm sure this has been repeated many times here.
