Years ago when I bought a Gehl 6635 I talked to a mechanic well versed with the machines, who said one should expect 4-5,000 hours of use before major things start going wrong (provided of course that the things was properly cared for and not abused).

I don't know if that translates to all makes, but it's all I've got for ya.

In my experience a reasonalbly maintained machine starts running into expensive major repairs at around the 5000 hour mark. This would be things like drive motors, drives and hydraulics. This figure seems to be about the average for skidsteers, loaders, tractors and most construction equipment.

I would agree with that. A machine will show it's wear by looks and any leaks, how clean machine is etc.

T190 is a great machine. The Kubota diesel will run a very long time, and the Bobcat hydraulics are sound also. As with any track machine the main components of wear are the tracks and rollers/idlers/drive sprockets. If these have not been replaced already, they will need it soon at 2500 hours.
