John deere 240 skid steer leaking hydro

hi there
new to the forum here.

I have a question. My '00 John deere 240 skid steer is leaking hydraulic fluid from somewhere inside or underneath the seat.

I want to try to find out wants wrong with it and try to fix it if it turns out to be a simple fix.

Problem is, i cant seem to figure out how to get down there to look at it.

Does anyone know how to open up one of those? I dont have the service manual, i bought it used.

I know i will get raped by bringing it into the repair shop, so i want to try to do it myself before giving it to them.

Thanks

First remove any attachment you might have on the machine and lift the arms up all the way. Now look behind your right shoulder for a steel handle. Push that handle to engage the safety lock for the arms. Next look for 2 bolts sticking up on the outside of the front cab corners. Remove the nuts from the bolts and the cab can be tilted up. You might have to pull the control arms toward you while standing in front of the machine to lift it. There is a safety prop under there, make sure it engages.

thanks

that worked.

we opened it up and alot of the bolts were loose.

Unfortunately we ran into a new problem.

Now it wont start. Is there any sensor that we might have knock loose that prevents it from starting.

it cranks but it wont turn over and the left peddle for the lift arm is stuck, probably filled with hydraulic fluid.

We are recharging the battery over night and try to figure out what is wrong tomorrow.

Any ideas what we might have done that could of caused this?

Thanks

I would open her back up and check to see if you may have nocked off any electrical connections to the solenoids. Also check the fuses on the right side of the cab.
