I've got a question for 5500 owners. What is your tare weight with a standard dump body in the short wheelbase version, plus what would your GVWR for the same vehicle be?

Ours varies. Since each body wieghs differently, the truck empty is like a cabin chassis. Empty we are at 9,100.00 give or take whose scale, depending whose scale we sit on.

Off the top of my head I'd say we scale in around 5400 kg and can carry another 4000 kg. Sorry we use the metric system up here. I'd have to check check to be certain but if my memory serves this should be close. I know we can load on 3 bundles of pavers and remain legal. Pavers are just under 3000 lbs per bundle. I usually load on a yard of bedding sand with the pavers.
