I think their current growing conditions are good. They just have to recover.
These guys were a bit toasted on the top middle. They were very heavily foliated in #3 pots last summer in the nursery. Maybe a little too much plant and a little too little pot. My belief is that these areas of the plant are a bit injured and are a little short on delivering the moisture necessary to sustain strong growth. I'm hoping that they will literally grow out of it.
We had a very mild winter. Great flowering on everything this spring & summer. Roses, especially. Mountain Laurels and Kousa Dogwoods are way nicer than usual.
