Scorched Gold Thread

Several of these guys were planted on this job done last fall. A few of them were slightly browned out at the top and center when they were picked up at the nursery. I though that it was due to big plants in small containers sitting in the nursery all summer baking away. I expected a good new golden growth this spring. That is not happening in a big way.

Any thoughts of whether something else is causing this or what can be done to help these guys out? It has been a while since I used Gold Threads, so I don't recall whether there is a problem with these or not. I don't ever recall having such a problem.

Others from a different nursery were fine and look great again this year.
