papercutter is on a distinguished road
I can say with complete confidence that if any of us knew of laydown sales, we'd be keeping them for ourselves...

If you want easier closes, go learn how to sell. I had a kid knock on the door last night- clearly a scammer, telling me he was "with a construction company doing work in your town right now" and all the associated BS. But man, he was good! I let him do his whole song and dance because he was nailing it... then asked for his contractor's license # and watched him hustle on down the road. He's clearly a dirty piece of crap, but you know he's a closer.

Now just imagine having that ability and selling a REAL service, and one that will get you referrals. Seriously, you're young- go learn how to sell from someone who does it well. Combine that with a willingness to go for the jobs that are more than a laydown, and you'll be off to a good start.
