Canadian Pesticide Law

I am at the momment obtaining info from Canuck LCO's

This topic is important enough cause of the impact it will have on green businesses.......and the fact that what starts some where...........spreads to other locations.

From what I know at the momment is that Canada, possibly provinces within Canada had passed legislation banning pesticide use for cosmetic or asthetic purposes.

The way I translate that............No pesticides allowed.

The powers to be felt it was more a health and environmental issue rather than an economic one.

But....here is a side bar I recently read that brings in health and economic issues.

It has been proposed by the US EPA to reduce air pollutants from 80 parts per billion to 70.......many in the industrial and manufacturing sector are lobbying to have this thrown out.........They indicate that even a reduction by just 5 parts per billion will have an economic impact in the billions......Where as the 10 parts per billion reduction would have an economic impact of nearly $10 billion.

We are talking about air quality.....

Personaly......I think it should go down to 50 parts per billion.....and then less in the future.

As for the pesticide issue.....there are organic alternatives....Loosing the income from pesticide applications will have to be offset by all other services.
