I was running in to the same problem and I switched to the foam rubber tires. Yes, they are a bit stiff, but we're talking about a wheelbarrow here, not a luxury car, does ride really matter?

I can tell you I have had absolutely no flats since I changed and can guarantee I won't in the future either. I found Home Depot has the best price on them.

I ran Slime in my mowers one season with marginal results. Some flats repaired themselves, but the ones that didn't made an absolute mess of things and made repairs more difficult. It peeled the paint off the inside of the rims as well, exposing them to rust. I stopped using it after that.
