That actually reminds me of my first job. I 'jumped in with both feet' so to speak, just like you did. In my first job, it was for a friend of the family, I got lucky, it was a $5000 + job, but I estimated it wrong, lol. I actually broke almost exactly even, but that's ok, because just like Malrex, I gained a lot of confidence knowing my estimates were almost bang on.
The best part was putting my signs on my customer's lawn and getting three jobs on the same street, leading to even more jobs.
So Malrex, congratulations on getting your business off the ground, if there's any advice I could give you, it's this: KEEP your enthusiasim going, even if you've been doing this for 30 years, it's very infectious.
