Aluminum trailer?
I'm just finishing up redoing a trailer I've had for 5-6 years. New wooden deck, sanding/repainting etc. And as I look at the other ones rusting in need of the same, I wondered if the new trailer I get (only 7K GVW for lighter use) should be made of all aluminum instead. A comparable 16' trailer that is aluminum mignt cost $5K (w/tax), instead of $2.5K for steel, but after you factor in all the rehab every few years and the eventual higher resale of the aluminum trailer some day, is there really much cost diiference? And, in the meantime, you'll always be pulling a nice looking trailer, instead of one that is either on the early-to-late stages of being a rust bucket.
Anyone with any experience with the aluminum trailers?
