The Wisconsin State D.N.R. lists POTW59 1/2 as a species of "special concern", the first step to being listed as "threatened", and then "endangered", yet in the low mesic woods around Lake Geneva and Lake Como, POTW 59 1/2 is a weed, forming large colonies in wild waste places.
