Age regulations for truck driving?

I'm currently employed as a landscape installer for a small company in PA, and will be 21 at the end of the summer.

I'd like to be able to start driving trucks instead of taking a van out when I go out on my own jobs. This is my second season with the company, but the powers that be are unsure if I am eligible to drive the trucks that we currently own. We've been going on the information supplied by the insurance company, stating that all drivers registered on the trucks must be 21 because the trucks are over 10,000lbs. But I’m not sure if I buy that when it comes to what the state or federal law is? I think they might just need to find some better insurance if they want me to drive. Searching the Penn Dot website isn't very helpful in locating anything besides CDL info.

I'm wondering if anybody can shed some light on the rules on age restrictions for driving dump trucks (F450, F550, 700 series) we are talking that all of our trucks fall under the CDL requirement of 26,000lbs even with trailers.
