Brian I have a lawn care business and spreading mulch can be a pretty profittable venture. I useally go to some of local nursery or landscape material outfits. I buy by the yard its alot cheaper than buying it in bags. as far as the price I charge by the yard at a 100% mark up if I pay $20 a yard I charge $40 a yard. And my normal visit charge at $75 per hour. That has been working out for me pretty good. also take in account of the removal and deposing of old bedding material. And for the lighter mulch like red mulch I was a the delivery cost by picking it up myself. but the heavier stuff like lava rock I would have that delivered.
