I have done plantings around water features indoors, and have planted plants into the water in interiors but I have never built an indoor water feature and I do not ever want to. All of the interior water features I have been involved with have been built by the building contractor. I would not want to take on the liability of having the possibility of leaks, and splashing causing damage to the building or other tenants furnishings or electronic equipment. Every feature that I have been involved with has ended up taking weeks to get the kinks ironed out with splashing on floors or leaking etc. and most have had problems that show up a few years later as well. I think over the years I have filled in just as many interior water features with soil and turned them into large planters as I have dressed up the initial water feature with plants and rock. I love the look but the liability scares me.
