Yes, the idea of making bins out of them has crossed my mind too!

But for far less money, you can go to your local concrete plant......they usually use all the extra concrete left over in trucks and make blocks............about the same size, less fancy, and much cheaper.

Your right..........they won't replace versa-lok on 'decorative' wall jobs, like residential stuff, but on those walls exceeding 4 ft, they sure work out nice........

they are building a wall in town right now.......about 200 ft by 20 ft tall........they had it up in about 3 days. Very quick to build.

Of course........you need a excavator capable of lifting up a 1500lb block up. That's what makes it such a niche market for the excavators. All you need is a excavator, a few guys, and basic skills to build.

When you think about the labor involved with all those 'little' versa lok units going up a wall, then you think about all the time spent installing geo-grid every so many courses, the cost of these walls is considerable less. I've always felt that I would rather have a machine on a job than labor.........with these units, it does just that. Less labor, more machine. A good combination these days.

Think about how many people are required on a large wall job. Know you basically replace them all with one operator and 2 guys to help set the block........it sounds very nice!
