I agree that the project could have looked better with a different selection of pavers, colors and the addition of a soldier course. However, the homeowners had decided on this look after seeing something similar at a friends.
The wall units are Versa-Lok.
The siding was removed to allow for a 1" gap above the pavers. Flashing was installed behind the siding and over a waterproof membrane that was adhered to the poured concrete wall.
