It's below the top. It was the only laser I saw with that setup.

The cool part about the LL500, beside the fact I can shoot a grade solo without walking 10 miles, is that I can set it down on anything 'close' to level and level it with the three screws underneath. If I'm estimating a front walk or back patio I can place it on the stairs and go without using a tripod (I suspect other models can do this as well).

It only has one motor on the unit, so battery life is listed at approx. 75 hours. It is also supposed to be a 'less harmful' laser on the eyes.

If any members go to a store to buy a laser beware. There are WAY too many choices!
