I do give credit to Agla's post about defining the services in the logo. Part of the reason I chose the logo I did was because it did lend itself to explaining what we do.
With that criteria as a backdrop, I do agree that the logo doesn't do a lot to explain your services. However, of the ones that were created in that contest, the one I posted has a pleasing look to me.
It's also possible that since I've been watching so many of the Design Outpost contests, I'm bored seeing the same 'guy pushing a mower' logo, or the 'shovel, snowflake and pruners in a circle' logo. So my opinion should probably not carry the same weight as those who are seeing this with fresher eyes.
