Bill, I've had it both ways, vinyl and painted signage. I like some of the effects that can be done with the brush, but economics dictates vinyl. The paint will fade and can scratch fairly easily, vinyl is much more durable. If you sell a vehicle, brushed on lettering is next to impossible to remove without damaging the vehicle paint, vinyl will come off fairly easy with the help of a hair dryer. If the truck has been kept waxed throughout its life, it's almost unnoticeable when the vinyl has been removed.
